The Sea Twister by LucasPratt The Sea Twister by LucasPratt
I made this today in celebration of my 3,000 views and over 40 watchers! You guys are the best! :)
So anyways, in this comic, we see Sea Swirl and Dizzy Twister as they brutally murder and drown an entire town of ponies and live out the rest of their lives in the shadows, running from the police.

She's not got any canon names, so I gave her her most commonly used fanon name.

Well she's not ultra popular yet, so you can use whatever you want seeing as she has no canon name. :)
That's the magic of fanon~

Lies! If Rainbow Dash can't do it by herself, then no way she can, even with unicorn aid.

Rainbow Dash makes small tornado's all the time. As did Lightning Dust.
Tornado's aren't hard to make, and it's not like Sea Swirl and Dizzy Twister were trying to get TOO much water up to Cloudsdale. Only a little bit.

Yes, emphasis on the /small/ part. Even Rainbow Dash needed the entire towns population of pegasi to pull off one big enough to get the small amount of water from Ponyville to Cloudsdale.

The comic could be funny, but in fact it makes me cringe how much it contradicts the show canon. One pegasus wouldn't be enough to lift the water...

I won't be bashing your art... using MS Paint to draw is just unforgiveable (unless you really know how to use it, like that guy who drew Mona Lisa in MS Paint).
Maybe I will just point out that in the last three panels, the poies look like pawns...

and don't make such thick outlines for speech bubbles... Did you ever see such lettering in normal comics?? At least you didn't use th comic sans font...

1. Rainbow Dash alone has been shown to raise a bit of water using Tornado's herself in the show. Not to mention that if you noticed, Sea Swirl (who in this fanon has more hydrokinetic powers) used her magic to boost the water as well, causing it to spurt upwards, just in the wrong direction.
2. My Laptop sucks, and no matter how many times I try to download any other art programs, the download never goes through to where I can use it. MSpaint works just fine for me, thanks, so I'll just stick to that since it's all I have.
3. Yes, I know about the thickness of the lines on some of the panels. This was my first ever comic, and I'm not used to drawing so many ponies all at once, so there were some minor glitches I didn't notice before hand. Working on a second comic now that has better art.
4. The Speech Bubbles are being worked on as well. It's kind of hard to fit them in without clouding out some of the picture to wear you could barely see it, so I'm making the panels a bit bigger.

Well, okay then, but then you'd see what I mean if you used my laptop. It downloads, but refuses to open or even show up anywhere on the computer. I've had numerous computers in the past, but this is the only one to feaure this problem.
I'd appreciate if you could be a bit less rude. I understand you're giving constructive criticisim, but unlike Labba, you're not going about it in the right way in particular.

How you can solve the problem - 1. find a friend with a computer 2. download a program. 3. copy to your USB device. 4. go back home, turn your laptop on, plug in the USB device, 5. copy the program. 6. open the program. 7. profit ;)

When you think about it, you are kinda bashing this piece to smithereens.

Telling Him/Her that she has to change everything, it's making you cringe because in the real show it took many pegasi to make a tornado, but in this comic it only took one, telling that the ponies look like "pawns" and that she made the outline of the speech bubble to thick?

You may just take it as some critique, but maybe that would him/her's feelings?

Also, try to understand that this took probably a long time, and maybe she/he feels good about it. Please don't bash her head in :/

heh.
If someone's feelings are easily hurt, then they shouldn't post things on the Internet. They should expect some criticism, especially on sites where people upload art.

Haha..

Criticism is something like " The lines were a little thick, but over all, this is a very good piece"  Not something like what you did.

I yes, they probably will expect some "criticism" But not from people like you, who don't even care about another person's feelings.

Oh my, what with you fans? :o I criticized this comic before too, and again some random fan arrived and told me to stop saying such things and that I was being exaggerate in criticizing. Strange thing in itself, but even more strange if you consider that the author himself agreed with me later - and I'm very curious to see how his next works are going to be drawn.

The artist has the right to draw whatever he thinks and the commenters have the right to write whatever they think of the deviation - as long as they are objective and they aren't offending anyone. Pony-Berserker is objective and isn't offending anyone, so his comment is ok. The author will feel bad? I think he will feel even worse when he decides to enter a contest and reach nothing more than the last place rather than now, while he can still accept the critique, modify his style and hope to get better.

I have faith in the fact that he can refine his skills, but he has to have faith in us and in the fact that our critiques are indeed useful. Even if they're harsh.

Where do you think they got the water from?
Dizzy made the Tornado from the water that Sea Swirl raised from the sea. They intended to launch it to Cloudsdale so Sea Swirl could help out with that cause, but rather, they accidently launched it to Ponyville, causing havoc.

That's why you leave the important work to the Mane 6, Spike, the Princesses, & any secondary Pony with a speaking role...
Now we gotta change the theme: ~My little OC's, my little OC's/Other than backgrounds we know nothing about...~

Actually, I think the Mane 6 and the others you've listed have caused more chaos than Sea Swirl and Dizzy Twister have.
BTW, Sea Swirl and Dizzy Twister are background ponies, not OC's.
Thanks for the feedback! :)

The comic is indeed funny, but the art is indeed... meh. No, even less than "meh". I gave you 14 points as a gift as you may have noticed to make you understand I'm not hating you... but in return trust me when I tell you that this is under every possible quality level; if it is your first comic as I can imagine by looking at your gallery, then I think it's pretty much a good thing for everybody if it is your last one as well.

Also, since some people have told me that my comments are too harsh without actually giving advices... well, I instead always give them, but this time I'll write them more clearly than usual so that there can't be any misunderstandings: poses and dynamism are actually quite good, as well as the expressions, and for example I like how you worked with the fifth panel. But the frontal view is abominable. That SUPERTHICK line just under their eyes and above their mouths is too... thick! It almost looks like they have moustaches! I know it has the same width of the other lines, but this is the point: that line should be very thin compared the the general outline of the pony: if you do them as you do the other lines, it only looks awkward. Also, I don't know which program you used to do this (it certainly isn't hand-made)... but it looks like MS Paint. I'd suggest to use at least a program that can help you with the anti-aliasing filter, since here the aliasing level is too high - I think you know what I mean, but if you don't you can check these words on the Internet to see what I'm talking about.

So... don't think badly of this comment, but understand that, if you want to keep doing comics, you should improve A LOT. A huge lot.

It's understandable. I made it with MSpaint, and I had no prior experience in comic making before, so this is just the first try at this new style for me.
Now that I've got a good idea at how to make this, I'm going to put new knowledge into improving on all the little details and making it a bit more detailed, while also trying to keep it close to the show, and also kind of retaining the simple look of it, as that was on purpose.
Thanks for the feedback! It's nice to get constructive criticism every once in a while. :)
